What Is Speedrunning?
If you love seeing video games played with speed, skill, and humor, speedrunning is for you. The concept of a speedrun is simple: players try to use every trick in the book (and some that were never in any book) to beat their favorite games in record times. Live commentary and special twists enhance the audience experience. If you've never seen The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time beaten in 18 minutes, or Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island completed in 2 hours, then you owe it to yourself to check out these performances!
AOD is proud to host some of the leading personalities in the speedrunning scene. They'll be out in force at AOD to raise money for charity and discuss their craft, share stories from past marathons, and show off their well-honed skills!
An AOD 2017 badge is required to attend Californithon 2017 events in person. Weekend passes are available online. One day passes will be available on site. While you're here, enjoy the rest of the convention!
